about

Hi all!

My name is Olivia Kong and I am a stage manager and property / scenic artist currently located in Colorado. In May 2024 I received a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology with an emphasis in Stage Management from the University of Northern Colorado, along with a minor in Chinese and certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship.

I currently work at the Aurora Fox Arts Center as their Technical Production Artist, giving me opportunities to dabble in all areas of technical theatre as well as work as their resident properties artisan. I continue to stage manage on the side, as I find joy and passion in this specific position. I thoroughly enjoy watching a production come together from start to finish, and pride myself in my attention to detail and organizational skills in keeping a production running. Whether I am working large musicals like Pippin or with an intimate show such as Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Aurora Christmas Show, my goal is to build a well-developed production that creates theatrical magic and an emotional experience for the audience.

Outside of the theatre, I consider myself an artist. I am an avid fan of writing, tattooing, and enjoying film. I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades who uses my experience in different fields and mediums to develop and hone my skills in theatrical design and technology. As I enter the professional field, I hope to build connections that will allow me to grow into an artist and stage manager that is enjoyable and effective to work with.
